Mayo Clin­ic coach­es are trained along nation­al accred­i­ta­tion guide­lines. Their strength-based approach is ground­ed in con­tri­bu­tions from coun­sel­ing psy­chol­o­gy, pos­i­tive psy­chol­o­gy, pre­ven­tion research, social work, solu­tion focused ther­a­py and moti­va­tion­al inter­view­ing techniques.

Our Strength Based Approach Follows the 5 E’s

ENGAGE: Build a trust­ing rela­tion­ship with indi­vid­u­als and groups.
EXPLORE: Assist clients in iden­ti­fy­ing their val­ues and desires.
ENVISION: Facil­i­tate a vision for wellness.
EXPERIMENT: Employ com­mu­ni­ca­tion strate­gies to enhance self-effi­ca­cy and to trans­form val­ues and desires into action.
EVOLVE: Sup­port last­ing change.

Session Information

Typ­i­cal­ly, a series of 12 coach­ing ses­sions over 12 weeks is rec­om­mend­ed. The first 5–7 ses­sions will like­ly be in per­son, with the option to Skype or Face­Time for the remain­ing sessions.
